FinFlo allows users to add Mutual Funds, Direct Equity, Other Financial Assets like PMS, Bonds, Gold, Real Estate and other assets in a
Portfolio.
Concept:
PMS is an asset type and can be managed depending on level of details that an advisor intend to have. Below are three options in which PMS can be managed:
1. PMS with its current value being updated manually
2. PMS with cash flows and returns being auto computed
3. PMS as Portfolio with Capital Register, Cash Balance and underlying Investments and their transactions
As scope of this article, PMS as Portfolio will be explained.
The below illustration depicts how investments are grouped at portfolio level and then aggregate them all to its client.
In FinFlo, every PMS product that is required to be analyzed in detail must be associated to a dedicated portfolio hence other investments asset types are kept and managed in different portfolios.
For PMS as Portfolio, it is require to have since inception details of Capital Register, Underlying investments (Mutual Funds and Direct Equity) at transaction level and the latest Cash Balance.
Simple business case:
In the below example, customer has started with an investment of 25L.
January - Fund Manager has invested 20L and Cash balance was at 5L
February - Due to rise in the market, the current value has become 25L while cash balance was at 5L (PMS value is 30L) but by end of February the Current value has become 27L and cash balance being at 5L. (PMS value is 32L)
During this period, Fund Manager has further loaded 2L from cash balance into investments.
March - Start of March the current value has grown to 34L and cash balance is 2L.
During this period, customer has requested for an outflow of 1L. (PMS value is 36L) and by the end of March current value has become 35L and cash balance is at 3L (PMS value is 38L)

For adding PMS as Portfolio
The PMS Product should first exist in Product Master. Click

PMS as Portfolio is added through Other Financial Assets module at Client level. On Other Financial Assets screen, user click on <Add Other Financial Assets> button.
Add Other Financial Assets screen is displayed. Below are the details, a user is required to select:
Asset Type: PMS As Portfolio
Product Name: The name that was added in Product Master
Associate Advisor to Portfolio: Map corresponding Advisor
Date of Investment: PMS Start date
On submitting details, a portfolio is created that is PMS centric.
Left navigation of PMS as Portfolio screen shows options to update Capital Register, Cash Balance and Transaction Upload.
Capital Gains: Investments that are under PMS as Portfolio are considered in Capital Gain repots.
Order Management System: PMS as Portfolios are not listed in trade order screens.
